Founder and CEO
Adam Malaty-Uhr is the founder of Growing at Work. His mission is to create transformational experiences to enable people to turn the everyday into brilliant opportunities for development.
Engineering human development is what Adam does. As a US Army combat veteran, certified Army Ranger, Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and Harvard University Graduate, he have made it his life’s mission to decode the path to outstanding leadership and entrepreneurship development. He wakes-up every morning excited to share that message with the individuals he coaches, the workshop participants he guides, and the organizational cultures he helps engineer.
Adam began his professional career supporting the development of at-risk youth, in inner city Chicago teaching high school psychology and history. Focusing his attention on leadership development, Adam coached Afghan Police Chiefs as a NATO Mentor walking them through complex negotiations and interactions with the enemy. Upon returning home he led the Military Science programs at Depaul and Loyola Universities in Chicago supporting the development of college students into combat leaders. Adam pioneered a next generation leadership development learning management system for the United States Army, the third largest organization on planet Earth. He Graduated Harvard University focusing on the psychology of leadership development. As a Harvard Teaching Fellow, he was able to focus on integrating his experiences and the world class research from Harvard to create truly meaningful leadership development training. It was in this integration, Growing at Work was born.

Born out of the most rigorous US Army Ranger training and Harvard University, we unleash individual and organizational potential by supporting changes in organizational culture. We accomplish this through coaching, workshops, consulting, research, and technology to build a culture that supports everyones’ growth.
Research has shown that from the moment we are born, our world has a profound effect on how we understand our environment; this directly impacts how we decide to interact with our world. This leads us to make great decisions that make us feel invincible. It also leads us to inaction, or worse, decision making that stifles those around us and ourselves.
We work to support the undoing of our collective conditioning, to empower individuals and teams to continue to grow. The best part is, we support your integration of these proven practices into your culture and your life. Our mission isn’t just to support your development, but to provide you the tools to continue that development for the long-term.
Research to deconstruct and decode the best practices in leadership development. We support organizations in honing their ability to cultivate leaders capable of succeeding in our volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous, and diverse world.
We are currently developing technology to support life-long leadership development for individuals and organizations. Be ready for some exciting updates to this in the near future.
Our primary offices are in Chicago, at Bunker Labs in 1871. We have done work all over the country and the world. We can travel to support your organization.
